Popular social media app, Tik-Tok has announced it entry into the NFT market by placing a full page advertisement in the New York Times
The video sharing focused social network owned by Chinese company ByteDance, made known it plans to mint content of its top Creators.
Controversial American performer, Lil Nas’ content, is set to be one the first to be minted, begining 6th October, 2021 till the end October. Other creators in the series include, Gary Vaynerchuk, Grimes, Bella Poarch and Rudy Williams
In Tik-tok’s words: “We want to be the platform that continues to find innovative ways to recognize and reward our creators.”
TikTok had previously come under heavy scrutiny from the past United States Government and other in Europe because of concerns that it might share it user data with the Chinese government.
